In raised lettering around the stone at the top of the ring are the words:- "Special Air Service Regiment" and "Who Dares Wins". On one side is the badge depicting the winged parachute, and on the other, the winged dagger badge. Both badges are in raised features. The British and New Zealand version of this particular ring differs slightly in that it has the words "Standby" on each side of the winged dagger badge while the Australian ring does not have these words.
